A versatility in the realm of PoE (Power over Ethernet LAN) switches, this compact beauty delivers standard 802.3af/at PoE on eight Gigabit Ethernet ports, with a maximum of 30 watts per port and a total PoE budget of 140 watts. Which, in a nutshell, means increasing the flexibility of your network, as you can power PoE devices such as access points, IP phones and video surveillance cameras over the Ethernet LAN cable, without the need for additional power supplies.
DGS-1008MP features 8 x 10/100/1000BASE-T ports supporting IEEE 802.3at PoE+ protocol. Each of the 8 PoE+ ports can deliver up to 30 watts, for a total PoE power (PoE Budget) of 140 watts. PoE is especially useful for devices that are far away from power outlets or when you want to minimize additional cable clutter.
SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE
There is no configuration required and installation is quick and easy. Auto MDI/MDI-X support on all ports eliminates the need for cables to connect to another switch. Each port senses the link speed of the network device (10, 100 or 1000 Mbps) and intelligently adjusts for optimal performance. The switch is fanless for quiet operation wherever it is installed. With wire-speed filtering and store-and-forward switching capabilities, the DGS-1008MP maximizes network performance and minimizes the transmission of erroneous network packets.
ENERGY SAVING
The DGS-1008MP switches incorporate D-Link’s Green 3.0 and IEEE802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) technologies to reduce operating costs without sacrificing performance or operational functionality. With D-Link’s Green technology, the switches constantly monitor the link status and network utilization of all ports. The switches also automatically detect cable length and can reduce transmit power consumption for shorter cables. Pairing EEE-compatible devices with DGS-1008MP switches dramatically reduces power consumption as ports automatically go into standby mode when not in use.
