The D-Link DGS-1005P 5-port Gigabit switch lets you connect to your data network and power Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices such as Wi-Fi access points (APs), IP surveillance cameras and IP phones. It is a compact switch with a metal casing and operates silently. It is Plug&Play, so no technical knowledge is required.
DGS-1005P has plug-and-play installation and requires no configuration.
Auto-MDI/MDI-X support on all ports eliminates the need for crossover cables when connecting to another switch, and auto-negotiation on each port intelligently adjusts the port speed to match the connected device. With wire-speed filtering and store-and-forward switching capabilities, the DGS-1008MP maximizes network performance and minimizes the transmission of erroneous network packets.
Power over Ethernet+
DGS-1005P features four Gigabit Ethernet ports that support IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at PoE, delivering up to 30W on each PoE port and providing a total power budget of 60W.
You can connect PoE compatible devices to the DGS-1005P to eliminate the need to plug them into an electrical outlet, they will receive power over the data network cable from the switch.
Green Technology
DGS-1005P features eco-friendly technology such as IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE), link status detection and cable length detection.
The EEE adjusts the switch's power consumption based on network utilization, reducing power consumption during periods of inactivity. Link status detection powers down unused ports, saving power when connected devices are powered off or disconnected. Cable length detection adjusts port power output based on cable length, reducing switch power requirements.
Compact and silent
The DGS-1005P's compact design allows it to be placed in most locations, including those where space is limited.
The desktop form factor provides everything you need to set up a new network or expand an existing network, while the fanless design ensures quiet operation even in noise-sensitive areas such as workstations and meeting rooms.
