Accident detection.
The iPhone detects if you have suffered a serious collision with the car and calls the emergency services when you cannot.11
Hardware sensors and advanced motion algorithms recognize signs of an accident, such as sudden changes in speed and direction or pressure differences when airbags deploy.
At that point, your iPhone can call 911 and alert your emergency contacts.
