The watch itself and its Bluetooth communication functions are designed with the right look and technology to make sports activities even more fun. Linking with the G-SHOCK Connected app provides access to a host of useful functions for training sessions. Practical functions for monitoring daily health and fitness include a 3-axis accelerometer, which counts steps, a countdown timer with up to 20 combinations of five timers each, and memory, for 200 lap records, among many other functions. When linked to the G-SHOCK Connected app, you can configure settings for a step counting log with five levels of exercise intensity, calorie calculations, and step goals. Plus, you can use the app to create timer combinations and send them to the watch, store stopwatch measurement data, view data, and more to help you plan and record workouts so they're more effective and enjoyable. Other features include app-based automatic time correction and more efficient timing, and an automatic dual LED light to make workouts easier in dimly lit areas. The small cases on these models are perfect for sports. Rear fins on the inside of the bands where they connect to the case, a new band ring shape that prevents slipping, more holes in the band to allow for better fit adjustment, and a soft urethane strap that stays flexible even under heavy use all add up to a more comfortable fit.
