The Smartwares FGA-13410 gas detector ensures that you receive a warning in time in the event of a gas leak. The gas concentration in the air is constantly measured. If this concentration exceeds certain limits, the detector emits a loud 85 dB alarm. This detector is indispensable for gas cookers, gas boilers, heaters, central heating boilers, gas stoves and gas fireplaces. The detector is EN 50194 certified.
Don't take unnecessary risks
Natural gas, butane and propane are dangerous because they are explosive when not properly controlled. If there is a gas leak, you would naturally want to know about it immediately so that you can take immediate action. In your home, gas can leak, for example, through your central heating boiler, water heater or gas cooker.
24/7 Protection
This gas detector measures and alarms for 3 different gases: methane, butane and propane and is powered by mains power. The sensor has a lifespan of 5 years and provides 24-hour protection. The test button allows, for example, to check monthly whether the gas detector is working properly.
Facility
The placement of a gas detector is important because natural gas rises to the ceiling while butane and propane gases stay close to the floor. To detect natural gas, place the gas detector no more than 30 cm below the ceiling and no more than 8 meters from the emission source. For the detection of butane or propane gases, we recommend placing the gas detector at a maximum height of 30 cm from the floor and about 2 or 3 meters from the emission source. We recommend not connecting the gas detector to a socket with a switch, to avoid accidentally turning it off.
Maintenance and testing
We must check that the green light is always on, which is a sign that the detector is working correctly. Dust and dirt can affect the operation of the gas detector, so it is important to clean it every month with a slightly damp cloth and every six months with a vacuum cleaner. However, cleaning products should not be used or paint on the detector. It is also recommended to carry out monthly tests to ensure that it is working correctly.
