Spatial audio with dynamic head tracking
Sound surrounds you with an immersive effect. Immerse yourself in a three-dimensional experience every time you listen to music, watch a movie, or watch a TV show. The gyroscopes and accelerometers in AirPods track your head movements, giving you the feeling of being right there on stage.¹
Adaptive Equalization
Music automatically adapts to the shape of your ear. Inward-facing microphones detect what you're listening to and regulate low and mid frequencies so you can hear every note clearly.
Longer battery life
Because AirPods (3rd generation) have an hour more battery life than AirPods (2nd generation), you can enjoy up to 6 hours of audio playback and up to 4 hours of talk time. The improved Skin Sensor knows when to turn AirPods on or off to save battery life. A 5-minute charge will give you about an hour of audio playback or talk time. Plus, the MagSafe Charging Case gives you over 30 hours of battery life and is compatible with MagSafe and wireless chargers.
Water and sweat resistant
AirPods and the MagSafe charging case have an IPX4 rating for water resistance. That means you can use them in the rain and during intense workouts.
Magic in every sense
All you have to do to use your AirPods is take them out of the case. They’re designed to switch between Apple devices automatically, and they have a built-in detector that knows when you’re wearing them and when you’re not. If you turn on Announce Notifications, Siri will read them out loud to you when you’re wearing your AirPods. And with Audio Sharing, you can pair two pairs of AirPods and watch a show or listen to a song with whoever you want.
