Once the connection is secure, the LED indicator on the top of the DC connector lights up: an amber light indicates that the laptop is charging, and a green light indicates that it is fully charged. The adapter comes with an AC cord to give you maximum cable length, and a handy AC wall adapter (also supplied) is also included for travel.

The power adapter charges the lithium polymer battery while the computer is off, on, or in sleep mode, and also powers the computer if you choose to use it without a battery.
